All Glory to the God of Hope
*Therefore, if anyone is in Christ the new creation has come. The old has gone, the new is here!
WOW! 2024 has come and gone like a whirlwind. Now, we bring in the new year of 2025 thinking of what has been and what is coming our way. There will be many new year's resolutions made. Some will seek to lose weight and work out. Some will look to cut out those unhealthy foods and habits. Some will resolve to do better in the work force or their career. I pray that these resolutions will work out for everyone, and they can live healthier lives and even be more productive.
As we look back over this past year, we may find many things we feel were left undone. The hustle and bustle of the world around us just make the year go by so fast. Maybe we get caught up in our work or unexpected situations. The year flies by and we wonder where the time went.
I want you to take heart. Even when we do not get it all done, Jesus loves us. Now, we are coming into a new year and what a great time to remember that when we confess with our lips Jesus as Lord and believe in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead, WE ARE SAVED (Romans 10:9). So, I truly believe this new year holds great possibilities. The possibility of remembering who we belong to and how much He loves us. The possibilities of knowing we serve a risen Savior, and we should resolve to serve Him. The possibilities of knowing we are a new creation in Christ, and we should resolve to carry that message to a hurting world.
I wonder what it would look like if we were to resolve to live more Christ-like lives. I believe in my heart that if we were to spend more time living our lives worthy of the Gospel that we would find ourselves with more joy than we have ever had before. What if in the new year we decided we would strive to help more people? What if we decided to spend more time with our families and friends? What if we decided to spend more time in prayer and the reading of God's Word? I truly believe these are the resolutions that would bring us into a fruitful new year.
Let us all resolve to love God and to love neighbor. Let us all have a great new year knowing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and passing it on to a hurting world.
Blessings, Pastor Shedd
