We invite you to a warm and loving atmosphere where we
Worship together, Fellowship together and Grow together in our journey as Christ’s Disciples.
Then Jesus said to the disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.
Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into the harvest field.”
Matthew 9:37-38
I have the utmost respect for farmers. It is one of the hardest jobs in the world in my humble opinion. It has become a very scientific occupation. You need to know just the right time to do everything in the process. It all starts with the idea of what you want to grow. I don’t pretend to be a farmer, but I think you have to know what you want to grow before you can do anything. Now, there is soil preparation and what kind of fertilizer and knowing when the best time to plant and when to water and what kind of pesticides and keeping up with the EPA and the list goes on and on. The farmer gets all this done and has all the right equipment and the time for harvest comes. All of this will be for nothing if you do not have workers to get the harvest to market. You can have the best harvest you have ever had, and everything will be for nothing if you cannot get the harvest harvested. You could look at a hundred-acre harvest, the best you have ever had and without the workers it will all go to waste.
Jesus talks about a harvest in our scriptures for this devotional. He is speaking of a harvest of souls just waiting to hear the Word of God. You see it is our job as disciples of Jesus Christ to be the workers to get the Word out. We are called to make disciples of all nations. (Matthew 28:19-20) Jesus tells us that the harvest is plentiful, and we need to pray that God will raise up people to be messengers of the Good News. The bible tells us that unless we tell the world about Jesus, how will they know? (Romans 10:14)
So let us be encouraged to be workers for the harvest. Let us pray that God will help us boldly proclaim the Good News to a world that is waiting on a message of Hope. After we have prayed for the workers, let us listen for the call and answer, “HERE AM I, LORD. SEND ME! (Isaiah 6:8)
Blessings to all,
