We invite you to a warm and loving atmosphere where we
Worship together, Fellowship together and Grow together in our journey as Christ’s Disciples.
Very early in the month of July we celebrate our independence from the British. We call it Independence Day and that day falls on July 4th. The Forth of July represents freedom. I have been to many different countries. My time in the United States Navy afforded me that opportunity. I can truly say, “There is no place that I visited that even comes close to our nation.”
Something that we should always remember is that our freedom is not free. Many men and women have died throughout history in order for us to live in a free nation. They laid down their lives for something they believed in and knew that we were meant to live in freedom. I am thankful for every single person that laid down their life so that we could live free. Jesus said in the bible that this is the greatest love, Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friend. (John 15:13)
These men and women consider us friends. We also have someone else who considers us a friend and oh what a friend we have in Him and his name is Jesus. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends. (John 15:15) Jesus also laid down his life for us for the greatest purpose of all. That we would be free from sin and death. Jesus born of a virgin and lived a perfect life. Jesus was crucified and died that we could be forgiven. Jesus was raised from the dead, so that, we could have the opportunity of eternal life. When we confess Jesus with our lips and believe in our hearts He was raised from the dead, WE WILL BE SAVED!! (Romans 10:9)
So, celebrate our freedom on July 4th, but never forget to give thanks for the greatest freedom of all which is given to us through the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Repent, have confess Jesus, and know that He was raised from the dead and you will be free indeed. All praise, honor, and glory to God.
Blessings, Pastor Allan Shedd
